On February 15th, 2014, the Portuguese Flagship Program (PFP) held the Pre-Departure Orientation for cohort 2 students and parents. The orientation was hosted at Dr. Robert Moser’s house. A lecture was given by Dr. Robert Moser, PFP director, and Fernanda Guida, PFP Brazil internship coordinator. The purpose of this event was to inform students about their responsibilities and opportunities while in Brazil, the Flagship Program’s expectations of students, as well as challenges related to the OPI and adapting to Brazilian culture.
In addition, a traditional Brazilian food, feijoada, was offered to all attendees to give them a little taste of Brazil.
