Director of the Portuguese Flagship Program Receives an Award from OIE.
UGA faculty and staff receive awards from the Office of International Education
Robert Moser is an associate professor of Portuguese, Brazilian, and Lusophone African Literature and Culture at the University of Georgia. He is also the director of the Portuguese Flagship Program (PFP), the nation’s first and only undergraduate flagship program in Portuguese. PFP is funded by the National Security Education Program and it has sent 35 UGA students to Brazil since it started in 2012. Students spend a year studying in their fields, reaching professional-level Portuguese proficiency, as well as conducting internship activities. Robert Moser is credited with developing and managing the PFP grant, working on the program curriculum at UGA, developing a full-fledged study abroad program for the Flagship students, and building the relationships necessary to provide outstanding internship opportunities for UGA students.
